TIRO COM ARCO

A arquearia é uma das mais antigas artes ainda praticadas, iniciada aproximadamente à 20.000 AC. Ao longo dos anos destacou-se como arma de guerra e, devido o advento da pólvora, perdeu espaço como arma bélica, porém, conquistou outro espaço, o do esporte.

 

Na trajetória dos Jogos Olímpicos, o arco e flecha foi incluído na disputa muito antes da fundação da FITA (Federação Internacional de Tiro com Arco). Na edição de Paris, em 1900, houve competição da modalidade pela primeira vez, tendo se repetido nos Jogos de St. Louis (1904), Londres (1908), e Antuérpia (1920). Entre os anos de 1924 e 1968, o tiro com arco deixou de fazer parte do programa olímpico, tendo retornado apenas em 1972, em Munique, de forma permanente até os dias de hoje.

 

Archery is one of the most ancients arts still practiced, dated from approximately 20.000 B.C. With the passing of the years was used as a war weapon and, with the invention of the gunpowder, lost it`s space as weapon, but gained visibility in sport.

In the Olympic Games trajectory, archery was included in the competition even before the foundation of FITA (International Archery Federation). In the Paris edition, in 1900, the archery competition happened for the first time, and later repeated itself in the Games of St. Louis (1904), London (1908) and Antwerp (1920). Between the years of 1924 and 1968, archery left the Olympics program and made its comeback only in 1972, in Munich, and remaining permanently in all other editions of the Games until today.
